Great Weather, Great Friends, Great Organization…. Fall-into-Wishes 2013

This past weekend the Northern Iowa Wishmakers had the privilege of giving back to the wonderful community of Cedar Falls, while also raising money for the Make-A-Wish foundation. We did this by putting on our annual Fall-into-Wishes event. This event is only in its 2nd year and is making great strides toward making a lasting impression in Cedar Falls. Fall-into-Wishes is a community wide event where volunteers rake leaves in return for donations to the Make-A-wish foundation.

Fall-into-wishes kicked off this year at 9am on the brisk morning of October 26th. The day soon turned into blue skies and perfect fall weather. Seeing our volunteers coming together for a day of work and laughter – raking leaves and making wishes come true.  Seeing the leaves in their fall glory, colors crossing the entire autumn spectrum. Smelling the crisp fall air, feeling the early morning breeze. Best of all, knowing that the work we do today can help make a wish come true tomorrow… It’s a lot to take in, but there’s no better feeling in the world.

Our actions today really do affect the dreams of tomorrow. We are providing the means to grant the wishes of tomorrow. No matter the work we take on, in the end we know its all for that kid that gets to fulfill their life dream through our organization. We are agents of change, we are dream fulfillers, we are the Northern Iowa Wishmakers.
